Who knew, sugar is toxic!

Wow, 60 minutes did a story on the evils of sugar. And in fairness to Jack Lalanne, he had it right all along.

Not only can it make you fat but it can shorten your life. How much sugar do consume a day?

Here is Jack Lalanne talking about sugar and “Sugarholics”.

And here is the 60 min clip that talks about sugar, heart disease and cancer. Makes you think about what you eat.

On a lighter note, have fun, smile a lot and laugh often.

Inspirational Video!

This is a video you must watch! An amazing transformation featuring a veteran, who had given up hope and found life again.

Betty my sleepy angel.

A great reminder that we should never give up on ourselves!

Arthur Boorman was a disabled veteran of the Gulf War for 15 years, and was told by his doctors that he would never be able to walk on his own, ever again.

He stumbled upon an article about Diamond Dallas Page doing Yoga and decided to give it a try — he couldn’t do traditional, higher impact exercise, so he tried DDP YOGA and sent an email to Dallas telling him his story.

Dallas was so moved by his story, he began emailing and speaking on the phone with Arthur throughout his journey – he encouraged Arthur to keep going and to believe that anything was possible. Even though doctors told him walking would never happen, Arthur was persistent. He fell many times, but kept going.

Walking and Running My Morning Ritual.

I love to get up and head out with the dogs each morning. It starts the day off right for me. My oldest dog has arthritis and cannot run like she use to, so I power walk them when she comes with us. There are mornings she likes to hang out in the back yard and take it easy. On those mornings Betty, Emma and I head out for a run.I like running, it really helps to calm my mind and settle my body.

This is Emma.

Emma is in the middle. She loves to run!

And Maggie.

Maggie is the oldest and the sweetest.

And Betty.

She is a very loving dog.

So there you have it. My running buddies. They keep my honest and make sure I get up and out the door every morning.

What kind of ritual(s) do you like to do to prepare yourself for the day ahead?
